Excitement builds for mission trip to Wind River Reservation

Elizabeth Area YOUTH Group to travel
to Wind River, Wyoming.

Young people in the Elizabeth area are planning and working to raise funds for a trip to Wyoming this summer. Ministering to Eastern Shoshone and Northern Arapaho families who make their homes on the reservation, the youth group will be painting and weatherizing homes, reaching out to children with Bible lessons, games, crafts and reading, and working with elderly residents, as well.

Young people interested in registering for the trip need to call Elmoe at 303-916-2521. A $50 deposit is needed immediately.

To raise funds in support of the trip, the youth group is having a yard sale at the church this Saturday, May 7. Anyone able to donate quality, sellable items may bring them to the church Saturday at 8 am, or call Elmoe to arrange pickup 303-916-2521.

According to Elmoe (youth pastor Tom Olmos), "This is a great opportunity for kids to experience life on the reservation, provide much needed help for people in need, and see some of the magnificent sights of the Wind River area. We hope folks will help make the yard sale a success so we can help kids cover the costs of the trip."

Team Zimbabwe Raises $50,000 for Zimbabwe Orphans

Team Zimbabwe Huge Success.

To date, the Team Zimbabwe Elephant Rock ride has raised about $57,000,
a new, best-ever record, and donations are still coming in!
With expenses estimated at $10,000, that means close to $50,000
will go to the children at Heather Chimhoga Orphan Care,
a 25 percent increase over last year.

Riders from Elizabeth Presbyterian Church were a big part of this success.
In all, EPC riders rode 125 miles and raised at least $1,300.
Teresa Bauer rode 40 miles, Tom Mottinger rode 29 miles,
and riding eight miles each were Wayne and Allie Otte
along with Phil, Ben, Susie, Gus and Henry Wood.
Thank you Elizabeth Riders in the Sky!
And to all those who supported the effort.

Team Zimbabwe is the fundraising arm of
the Zimbabwe Mission Partnership (ZMP),
a partnership of 10 Denver area churches including
Elizabeth Presbyterian Church.

This Year's Holy Week To Be A Journey

In previous years at EPC worshippers have been blessed by the washing of feet, a memorable and genuine experience of the love of Jesus on the night before his crucifixion. But this year a deeper and richer experience is planned, one that will be meaningful to both adults and children, as we journey through history, from the time of the first Passover, to the Last Supper.

Everyone is invited to experience in person how God has worked passionately – throughout the history of his people – to restore our relationship with him.

You, your family, and especially your children,
are invited to a Maundy Thursday Experience
7:00 p.m., March 24,
at Elizabeth Presbyterian Church.

Experience the making of unleavened bread,
made in haste for the journey out of Egypt,
and broken by Jesus at the Last Supper.

Experience "The Blood of the Lamb"
poured out for the salvation of God's people,
at the original Passover and
on the day Christ was crushed
for our iniquities.

Experience the importance of being
a "good vessel" for the journey of life.

And experience sacrificial love.

Then on Good Friday at 7:00 p.m.,
you and your family are invited to come
nail your sins to the cross
and hear the choir sing an old favorite,
Via Dolorosa.

And, finally, on Sunday morning,
everyone is invited to come celebrate
The Joy of Easter.
Our traditional service is at 8:30,
contemporary at 10:30.
Between services, at 10 o'clock,
children of all ages are invited for
an Easter Egg Hunt in the courtyard.
